You do not need experience, a qualification, or a great deal of time. You need to be willing to work and glad to talk to people.
What you would actually do
Four jobs, and all of them matter.
Cook and prepare
Getting hot food ready in volume, before anyone leaves the house. The unglamorous half of every outreach.
Pack
Making up hampers, care packs and food bags. Sorting donations so nothing good goes to waste.
Serve
On the tables, handing food over. This is the part people remember, and it is mostly about being friendly.
Drive and shift
Collecting donations, moving gear, setting up marquees and packing down at the end of a long day.

Safety induction over Zoom
Every volunteer completes a short safety induction online before their first shift. You can do it from home.
Come to an outreach
We will let you know when and where the next one is, and what to bring. Someone will look after you on the day.

Cannot make a shift?
There are other ways to be useful.
Donate food
We take fruit, bread, snacks, water, coffee and tea bags. Talk to us before dropping anything off so nothing is wasted.
Give
Money buys whatever has not been donated. Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
Host an outreach
Running a market, fete or community day? We can bring a meal outreach to it.
Volunteering here asks for discretion as much as effort. What people tell you on the tables stays there.
