Privacy policy
Daily Bread House Inc respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through this website, what we do with it, and what we do not do.
The short version
- This website has no contact forms, no accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts.
- We set no cookies of our own.
- If you email us, we hold your message and your email address so that we can reply.
- We never sell, rent or trade personal information.
What we collect
When you email us
If you contact us at our published address, or use one of the buttons on this site that opens your email application, we receive whatever you choose to send: typically your name, email address and your message. Volunteers may also send a phone number and suburb so that we can organise shifts.
When you simply visit
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to serve the site and protect it from attack. We do not add any tracking on top of that.
Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. That means Google receives a request from your browser, including your IP address, when a page loads. We do not send Google any other information about you.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry.
- To organise volunteering, food donations and outreach.
- To issue a receipt if you have asked for one.
- To keep the records a non-profit organisation is required to keep.
We do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us. If we ever start a newsletter, you will have to ask for it.
Donations
Bank transfers go directly to the charity's account. Your bank, not this website, handles that transaction. We see the information your bank passes on, such as your name and the reference you used. This website does not process payments and does not receive card details at any point.
Photographs
We take photographs at outreach events and use some of them here and on our social media. Volunteers pictured have agreed to appear. If you appear in a photograph on this site and would like it removed, email us and we will take it down. We do not need a reason.
Who else sees your information
Our email is provided by Google Workspace and routed through Cloudflare Email Routing. Those providers process messages in order to deliver them. Beyond that, your information stays with the volunteers who need it to do the job you contacted us about.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept only as long as they are useful. Financial records are kept for as long as the law requires of a non-profit organisation. Ask us to delete your details and we will, unless we are required to keep them.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the contact form and we will respond.
This policy is written to meet our obligations under the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date below.
